Carnival Comes to Northallerton

A popular tradition dating back over a quarter of a century will return to Northallerton again later this month with the help of the local community. Northallerton Carnival takes place on Sunday July 13th and will see thousands of people converge on the town to enjoy a funfair, Northallerton Silver Band and lots of traditional family street entertainment. Simon Bailes Peugeot, one of Northallerton’s most prominent businesses, is once again offering its support to the event by becoming a main sponsor, along with North Yorkshire Timber. The company will be responsible for the marketing and publicity for the carnival by funding radio adverts, flyers and leaflet drops in the local area. Northallerton Carnival dates back over 25 years and raises money for a range of local charities. However, several years ago it was feared that the event would no longer take place due to declining numbers. But, thanks to local companies and leading figures the carnival continues to attract thousands of people from all over North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley. Simon Bailes Peugeot, a family run business which has been established in Northallerton for over 29 years, has been the main sponsor of the carnival for the last two years. Managing director, Simon Bailes, commented: “Northallerton Carnival is an important family event for the whole community. It has raised thousands of pounds over the years for many charities so it is vital that local businesses continue to support the event to ensure its popularity.” Carnival Chairman, David Blades added: “Having the support of leading local businesses is crucial for the survival of the carnival which is a major annual event for Northallerton. Having people like Simon Bailes Peugeot and North Yorkshire Timber on board really helps us to raise our profile and make it one of North Yorkshire’s best family events.”
