The scheme, run by Hambleton District Council, provides fun-packed activities for four- to 16-year-olds, and support from Simon Bailes Peugeot means this year's programme has featured the biggest variety yet.

Hyper Holidays is now in its seventh year and this summer's fun has seen more than 200 activities at the council's leisure centres in Northallerton, Thirsk, Bedale and Stokesley.

Some 4,000 youngsters have been treated to sessions ranging from football and tennis to self defence and art classes.

Simon Bailes dropped in during a fencing class at Hambleton Leisure Centre - he could also have tried his hand at ballroom dancing and cheerleading!

This year's activities have taken place further afield as well, with highlights including trips to Xscape in Castleford for a spot of skiing and tobogganing, and an outing to Alton Towers.

Simon said: "It's not always easy to keep the kids happy and entertained during the long summer break, so Hyper Holidays is a great idea.

"Thousands of youngsters have already benefited from the scheme which is going from strength to strength.

"We are delighted to support our local communities and I hope our involvement with projects like Hyper Holidays will continue for many years to come."

Councillor Ralph Andrew, Cabinet Member for Health at Hambleton District Council, said: "Hyper Holidays is more popular than ever and the range of activities on offer has proved a hit with the children and their parents.

"The continuing support from Simon Bailes has allowed us to extend the programme once again, providing a memorable summer break for all those involved."
